(or Too Many B’s Let’s Just Eat!)
Denver is a brunch town, which makes sense. Denver is a fun city and brunch is alway fun. We also like to celebrate in Denver. Food and drink are an essential part of the celebration. That being said, the weekend is when we can really cut loose, sleep through breakfast, and get things going a little later with a few drinks to set the tone for a great weekend. That’s where we, Block & Larder in Berkeley comes in. Join us every Saturday and Sunday for our cocktail Brunch! Yes, I know. There are great restaurants putting on brunch all over our city, including the Berkeley neighborhood (just north of the vaunted Highlands) where we are located. There are even several options along Tennyson Street alone. And well it may be hubris to claim that we are one of the best options on Saturday & Sunday, I’ll still do it. Disclaimer: I may be biased, but if you give us a try we believe that you will agree.
Let’s start with the drinks. We happily serve locally roasted Corvus Coffee. Whether you are hanging out for a bit and want a bottomless cup or just personal press pot, we’ve got you covered. Are mimosas more your thing? With plenty of fresh juice and prosecco on draft, we will never run out when you order a bottomless mimosa. Bloody Mary? Yep – served with a beer back. Feel like going big? Order the 32 oz version in a Mason Jar to sip on. We have several house infused vodkas to choose from or you can make it a Bloody Maria/Smoky Maria by choosing from our selection of tequilas & Mezcal instead of the vodka.
Now that drinks are covered, are you ready to eat? According to the Westword (and anyone that has ever tasted it) we have some of the best fried chicken in Denver. During brunch we’ll serve you half of a chicken with a generously sized, freshly made waffle – all drizzled in Cajun spiced maple syrup. Not feeling like chicken today? Well, in case you haven’t noticed meat is kind of our thing. Every brunch service we serve up some of the best steak and eggs to be found in Denver. Does sweet sound better than savory? How about some of those fluffy Belgian waffles with cocoa whipped cream on top.
Ultimately, if you are recovering from you Friday night festivities, just trying to enjoy your Sunday Funday, or simply getting a late start to the day, we’ll gladly take of you in. We celebrate food and drink here every day – especially at brunch.
